Winter and early spring are great times for planning and designing an adobe structure and learning the basics of adobe construction through small hands-on projects. Adobe in Action has divided the preliminary steps of designing and constructing a typical adobe brick home into four online classes which will all be held this spring:
1. Passive Solar Adobe Design (Feb 13 to April 8, 2012)
2. NM Adobe Building Permit Process (Feb 13 to April 8, 2012)
3. History & Basics of Adobe Construction (April 9 to June 3, 2012)
4. Foundations for Adobe Structures (April 9 to June 3, 2012)
More details about these upcoming online classes can be found here:

This first wave of online classes is a great way to prepare yourself for Adobe in Actions's early-summer workshops which will cover more advanced topics such as adobe wall construction and roofs for adobe structures in a live-instruction setting in Northern New Mexico. Check back at the Adobe in Action website for details on those upcoming classes.
